What is Talent Management?



According to Business Jargons (2020), Talent management is the methodical process of distinguishing the available position, appointing the suitable individual, improving the skills and proficiency of an individual to match the position and retaining that individual to accomplish long-term corporate objectives of the organization. Likewise, Talent management is a continuous process that encompasses attracting and retaining high-quality people, improving their skills, and continuously encouraging them to develop their performance.

Main intention of talent management is to make an encouraged people who will stay with the organization in the long run. The way to accomplish this will vary from organization to organization. (Valamis, 2020)

Talent management is the broad extent of Human Resource Management processes to attract, onboard, develop, encourage, and retain high-performing people in the organization. Talent management is targeted at enhancing corporate performance all the way through systems that make workers more productive. A recruiter’s job begins with a vacancy, and involves sourcing, screening and interviewing skilled candidates. A Talent Acquisition team, however, takes a more proactive approach. They improve the company’s employer brand and network to recruit potential candidates. They also build pipelines to reduce time-to-hire and increase quality of hire for open roles.
